Windows Update Error number: 0×8DDD0004 and Restricted Internet Option

Symptoms:
1. When you visit Windows Update to download updates to your system, “ Error number: 0×8DDD0004″ may appear.
2. You cannot access Internet Option via Internet Explorer and gives out “This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator” error message
Cause:
A malicious file that resides in “%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\setupapi.dll”, where %ProgramFile% is a system variable.
Resolution:

Close any open Internet Explorer.

Delete “setupapi.dll” residing in “%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\”.

Restart Windows Update
Note: Legitimate setupapi.dll resides in “%windir%\system32\”
