Trip to Philippines
A Windy, Wavy and Rainy Day at Nagsasa Cove
by DarkBlak on Jun.06, 2009, under Trip to Philippines, personal
Despite of unpredictable weather condition we still push our Nagsasa Cove trip last May 30 and 31, 2009. I don’t have much to share as I did not enjoy that much but I can share you how fun it is to camp in an isolated island on a bad rainy day.
Here it goes. First and foremost we arrived at the Victory Liner Caloocan terminal at almost 12:00mn and we did’nt have the chance to buy tickets because the ticket boot was already close. Since we are all willing to go we took our chance by lining up on the chance passenger line. Unfortunately only 5 of us got chance to board the bus, the remaining 8 on our group rent a van going to San Antion Zambalez for 4,000php. We arrived at San Antonio, Zambales around 3:00am and the other group arrived around 4:30am.
We need to stay at the Plaza until the markets open because we to buy supplies for our camping trip at Nagsasa Cove. By 7:00am we arrived at Pundaquit Beach and have to wait for the weather to calm at least before we go to Nagsasa Cove. After almost an hour when the weather are bit calm we decided to go and sail even if the wind is still strong and the waves are bit high.
Since the winds and the waves are not that friendly we have a hard time sailing going to Nagsasa Cove. There are time that we need no slow whenever the waves are bit high. Finally after more or less an hour the wavy, windy, and rainy trip to Nagsasa has ended.
If you want how we managed to stay there on that rainy day you can view my friends photos here, here, here and here.
Destination Potipot Island, Candelaria Zambales
by DarkBlak on May.05, 2009, under Trip to Philippines
Change of Plan. While we are inviting our close friends to join our planned trip to Nagsasa Cove this coming May 30 & 31, 2009 it turned out that one of our friend’s GF owned a resthouse at Potipot Island in Zambales. So we’re going to Potipot now instead of Nagsasa Cove. Potipot Island is one of the beatiful island in Zambales along with Anawangin Cove, Capones Island, Camara Island and Nagsasa Cove. It is also dubbes as the next best thing in Boracay on this part of Luzon.
Our estimated budget of 2,000.00php will remain intact. We just hope that the weather on that day is not bad. It’s quite sad that we won’t be coming to Nagsasa Cove anymore but it’s good to know that we’re going to Potipot Island. Maybe one day we’ll go to Nagsasa Cove and enjoy its beauty but come May 30 & 31, 2009 we will indulge the beauty of Potipot Island. Potipot Island we’re coming!!!!!!!!!!!
Destination Nagsasa Cove, San Antonio Zambales
by DarkBlak on Apr.22, 2009, under Trip to Philippines, events
After our two camping trips at Anawangin Cove (with sidetrips at Capones Island and Camara Island) last year we are bound to go back at Zambales. But this time we are not going back to Anawangin Cove instead we are going to Nagsasa Cove, it is a 20 mins boat ride from Anawangin Cove or 1 hour boat ride from Pundaquit Island which serves as our jump-off point going to Nagsasa Cove.
Nagsasa Cove is home to a few friendly Aetas which live in harmony with nature. Some says that you can even ask a local to catch a fish for you. If it’s for free or not, that I don’t know but will definitely get the answer for that when we get there on May 23 to 24, 2009.
Our estimated total budget will be Php2,000.00, inclusive of bus fare, boat ride and foods. Hopefully this camping trip to Nagsasa Cove will serve as a stress reliever for us. If you want to join us on our camping trip just leave me a message, ok?
* Update(s)
Due to sched conflicts we moved our trip on May 30 and 31, 2009.

Regada Water Festival 2008
by DarkBlak on Jun.17, 2008, under Trip to Philippines, events
Hopefully makasama ako this year.
June 22- 29 : Cavite City (Regada Proper – June 24th)
It has been a yearly tradition to celebrate the Cavite City Water Festival more popularly known as “REGADA” every June. The annual tourism oriented festival has evolved into a combined environmental, religious and cultural activity. More so, the month of June is significant in Cavite City’s history for its lasting contribution to Philippine independence and history.
“BE PREPARED TO GET WET,” warned Cavite City’s local officials to the guests and visitors of their Annual Water Festival. A wet and wild festival awaits tourist and other visitors when they come to the historic city to celebrate the feast of St. John the Baptist.
“Regada” was derived the spanish word “regar” from the chavacano speaking Cavitenos, which means water or to sprinkle. In a bid to hold the biggest water festival, Regada, will be staged in the one kilometer stretch along P. Burgos Avenue. The main thorougfare will be rigged with sprinklers and mobile sound system to transform P. Burgos Avenue into what could be the biggest wet party in the country.
Students and townfolks will fill the avenue to participate in the wet street dancing dubbed as “Basayawan sa Kalye”. The participants will interpret the essence of the yearly water festival through colorful costumes and body movements and dance to the music provided by the giant mobile sound systems installed along P. Burgos Avenue.
The festival culminates with the holding of Caracol ni San Juan Bautista at around 11 o’clock in the moring, a fitting climax to the festival’s origin in honor of St. John the Baptist in which people celebrate for the blessing by joining the “Paulan”.
Regada started in 1996 during the tenure of the Mayor Tim Encarnacion and from then on, was held every year thereon during the month of June.

Trip to Anawangin Cove and Camara Island
by DarkBlak on Apr.14, 2008, under Trip to Philippines

by DarkBlak on Apr.02, 2008, under Trip to Philippines, events
How to get there:
1. Magpunta sa Victory Liner, Caloocan (mas maaga mas maganda). Bumili ng Ticket papuntang San Antonio, Zambales.
